Overview
Capitaf is a prestigious week-long residential colloquium held at the former summer home of Milton and Rose Friedman in Vermont. At Capitaf, students immerse themselves in Socratic dialogue on how free-market capitalism drives human well-being. A typical colloquium consists of a morning of formal sessions, with student-led discussions based on chapters from Friedman’s Free to Choose or the classic Capitalism and Freedom. Afternoons bring enriching excursions to Goodrich’s Maple Farm, nearby Dartmouth College and the Calvin Coolidge Homestead. Free time allows for other recreational activities like swimming, hiking and gathering around the fire for s’mores.
