Javier Martínez-Acha

Javier Martínez-Acha currently serves as Panama’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has a distinguished career in national and international finance, with 27 years of experience spanning investments, banking, and capital markets. He has held senior executive roles, including commercial and private banking executive, financial advisor, treasurer, general manager, and vice president, managing large-scale global corporate portfolios across multiple sectors. As a certified securities broker and co-founder of Geneva Asset Management, S.A., he has helped position the firm as one of the most respected in the industry.
Martínez-Acha holds bachelor’s degrees in industrial engineering, economics, law, and political science from Texas A&M University, Universidad Latina de Ciencias y Tecnología, and the University of London. He also earned postgraduate degrees in international economic law and international business law, as well as an LL.M. in international arbitration from the University of London.
