Keiko Fujimori
Former Congresswoman of Peru
Keiko Sofía Fujimori Higuchi is a prominent Peruvian political leader and advocate with a background in both public service and business administration.
Keiko began her public service career as the First Lady of Peru from 1994 to 2000, serving during her father’s presidency. During this time, she also presided over two charitable organizations, the Children Foundation of Peru (1994-2000) and the Peruvian Cardio-Infant Foundation (1996-2006), which were dedicated to building a better future for children in the country.
In 2006, Fujimori was elected as a Congresswoman of the Republic, making history by securing the highest number of votes in Peru’s electoral history. Her dedication to public service continued as she founded and presided over Oportunidades, Institute (2012-2015).
A trailblazer in Peruvian politics, Keiko is the first woman in the nation’s history to reach the final round of presidential elections three times (2011, 2016, and 2021). As the founder and current president of the Fuerza Popular political party (established in 2010), she has played a key role in shaping Peru’s political landscape. Today, Keiko Fujimori serves as the leader of the democratic opposition in Peru.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University.
