Lindsey Friedman

Lindsey Lazopoulos Friedman is a Partner at the law firm of Holtzman Vogel, where she focuses on government investigations, white-collar criminal defense, and complex litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Lindsey served as Chief of the Major Crimes Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, where she was an Assistant United States Attorney from 2018 to 2025. She served in the National Security Section, Economic and Environmental Crimes Section, Major Crimes Section, and Appellate Division, prosecuting cases ranging from gang violence and terrorism to artifact smuggling and CARES Act fraud. She holds an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance and has extensive experience in counterintelligence, counterterrorism investigation, and cyber-crimes prosecution.

In 2021, the Council of Inspectors General honored Lindsey with the Investigation Award of Excellence for prosecuting the thieves who stole $3 million worth of respiratory ventilators that were on their way to a pandemic-ravaged sector of El Salvador as part of a U.S.-led humanitarian effort. The Council also featured Lindsey’s case as an example of excellence in a Report to Congress and the Office of the U.S. President. From 2021 to 2023, Lindsey was the Southern District’s CARES Act/Covid-19 fraud prosecutions coordinator.

Before joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Lindsey worked as an associate attorney at Colson Hicks Eidson (where she practiced complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense) and K&L Gates, LLP, an AmLaw 100 firm (where she practiced labor law and class action litigation). She also served as a law clerk to U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Chief Judge Alex Kozinski and Southern District of Florida U.S. District Judge Robert N. Scola. Lindsey earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in American History from Columbia University.

Lindsey serves on the Florida Bar’s Federal Court Practice Committee, the Southern District of Florida Jewish American Heritage Committee, and has previously served on the Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Committee, the Southern District of Florida Magistrate Merit Selection Committee, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida Bench and Bar Conference Committee. She is a director of the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Association. Lindsey lives in Miami with her husband Todd Friedman, and two young daughters.
