María Paula Romo is a lawyer with a master’s degree in Government and a distinguished career in public service and academia across Latin America.
She has served twice as a legislator, and most recently held the position of Minister of Government of Ecuador, where she led state institutions through major national crises.
She has been a university professor and served as Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the International University of Ecuador.
Her work has focused on democratic governance, security, and the defense of the rule of law.
