María Paula Romo

María Paula Romo is a lawyer with a distinguished career in public service and academia across Latin America. She has served twice as a legislator, and most recently held the position of Minister of Government of Ecuador, where she led state institutions through major national crises. Her work has focused on democratic governance, security, and the defense of the rule of law.
She has been a university professor and served as Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the International University of Ecuador.
Romo holds a master’s degree in Government.
