Natalie Martinez

As a current Political Science and International Relations student in the Steven J. Green School of International & Public affairs, Natalie has dedicated her time to learning about the world and developing both her professional and leadership skills. She hopes this will amount to impactful, community-based work in the future, and would love to be involved in public affairs. Natalie is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, the Pre-Law Association through honors, and is a volunteer tutor for FIU’s Educational Talent Search Program.

 

Ashley Perez

Ashley has always had a deep passion for politics and improving the well-being of others. As a first-generation college student, Ashley’s parents instilled in her the importance of education and pushed her to excel academically. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science. After graduating, she hopes to attend law school, become a criminal defense attorney, and ultimately manage and operate a non-profit organization. Ashley is currently a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, volunteers at Big Brother Big Sister Miami, is a member of the black student union, and is an advocate for human rights.

 

Mateo Scotti

Having graduated in the Fall of 2021 with a degree in Finance, Mateo has a deep passion for politics and improving the lives of individuals around the world. Working with the Adam Smith Center as a research assistant has been paramount for his development as a leader, and has given him a much broader perspective on the world and its people. Mateo has a background in accounting and was the President of the FIU chapter of Beta Theta Pi in 2021.

Alexandra Valdes

Born to immigrant Cuban parents, Alexandra is in pursuit of her version of the American Dream. At a young age, she became enamored with politics and began to envision herself being able to make a positive impact through policy reform. With this in mind, she hopes to attend law school after graduation, and has already become involved in several campaigns such as Ron DeSantis for Governor. Her ultimate goal is to work in the White House and run for President of the United States.
